Remember Those ‘Anti-Homeless’ Spikes? Here’s What a Group Of Activists Did To FIGHT BACK!
Remember the story earlier this week about spikes that were being placed in public places to deter homeless people from getting too comfortable? Well now the War on the Poor has taken a startling twist in the battle for human rights and dignity of the extremely impoverished and homeless. ?
London’s “anti-homeless” spikes have been around for some time, but recently they have been getting more and more international attention, thanks in large part to social media. This led to recently “Homes Not Spikes” protests, organized by Left Unity, where British activists raised their voices in defense of the rights and dignity of the homeless, to this morning’s “direct action” campaign to deter businesses and others from implementing the spikes.
This radical criminal action happened in the early hours of the morning, when activists dressed as construction workers through police for a loop as they poured concrete all over the metal spikes.
