The Environmental Protection Agency has awarded $100 million to the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality to help them recover from the water crisis plaguing the region, reports MLive.

The funds are part of the Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation Act, which was approved in 2016. The money was officially awarded on Friday, and will help the city accelerate programs to replace service lines that have leached lead in to the city’s water supply.

"The people of Flint and all Americans deserve a more responsive federal government," said EPA head Scott Pruitt. "EPA will especially focus on helping Michigan improve Flint's water infrastructure as part of our larger goal of improving America's water infrastructure."

Flint Mayor Karen Weaver said she was ‘excited and very grateful’ to receive the aid from the federal government.

"The city of Flint being awarded a grant of this magnitude in such a critical time of need will be a huge benefit," said Weaver. "As we prepare to start the next phase of the ... pipe replacement program, these funds will give us what we need to reach our goal of replacing 6,000 pipes this year and make other needed infrastructure improvements. We look forward to the continued support of the EPA and federal government."

The new funding is a supplement to the EPA’s State Revolving Fund (SRF), which supplies over $30 billion to states in need of infrastructure repair.
"Under President Trump's budget blueprint, SRF remains fully funded, and the proposal provides robust funding for the Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act program to finance critical drinking and wastewater infrastructure," the EPA said in a statement.

Where in the Constitution does it give authority to the Feds. to give money to states to fix their water problems or anything else for that matter?

Think about it folks, most of the expenditures of the Federal Government is not authorized by the Constitution. Why do you think we are $20Trillion in debt, total mismanagement and theft.

Even the Supreme Court ruled that money can't be taken from the tax payers that have money and give it to people that don't have money.

How can the EPA decide where to spend tax money as that should be solely the job of Congress? Congress should not be creating slush funds that many unlawful de-facto agencies have access to and is common to use those funds for unintended purposes.

Mr. Scott Pruitt, you don't seem to care about the Chem-Trails being sprayed upon the people of the U.S.. Starting Monday they are suppose to start spraying two new viruses on the people of America along with radioactive materials.

Spraying viruses on people is not weather modification it is Genocide and you are part of it. It is your job to keep our air free from poisons such as they are spraying. It is also destroying our Ozone Layer.

You will see the inside of a court room as will Pres. Trump for his and your actions or inactions.

Of course she is excited. Most all of the large cities are run by lib-tards and are always happy to get money from families that work and pay taxes so they can get their freebees after their gross mismanagement of city funds. These people make me sick.

Why don't they jut hook up the old system that didn't have lead in the source water. It is the water supply not the water lines that is the problem.
This looks like a set-up to me. Hookup to a lead source supply them get free money to replace water lines that they should have been replacing a little at a time throughout the years. I can tell you that 6,000 lines didn't just all go bad at the same time. The people running these cities are real clowns.

Maybe they aren't incompetent maybe just good connivers.
